Corb Lund Releases CD on Stony Plain Records

Corb and the Hurtin’ Albertans have returned from Nashville where they finished recording their new album titled “Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!“. The album is scheduled for release on November 13th in Canada on Stony Plain Records and Warner Music Canada. “Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!” features 13 songs written by Corb Lund and was once again produced by Harry Stinson. The album’s first single and video for “I Wanna Be In the Cavalry” was released to radio and CMT Canada in mid September.

The Gift is a heartfelt tribute to Canadian icon Ian Tyson. Released on the Stony Plain Records, The Gift is 15 songs representing material found on Ian Tyson’s albums and Ian & Sylvia recordings over more than 4 decades. The Gift is named after Ian Tyson’s song about western painter Charlie M Russell.

Edmonton Folk Music Festival Annouces Line Up

Terry Wickham announced the 2007 Line Up for the Edmonton Folk Music Festival today. Appearing on MAINSTAGE this year will be bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys; Nanci Griffith; City & Colour, Blue Rodeo; Michael Franti & Spearhead; Mary Margaret O’Hara; Marty Stuart. Buffy Sainte-Marie will close out the festival on Sunday night August 12.
